Once groups are formed and officially filed with the Ohio BWC, CareWorksComp supports participants with industry best claims management services. Effective, proactive claim management is critical in many situations where a participant’s eligibility for the group program may be at risk, or where an employer is attempting to gain eligibility and is faced with a claim.

Claim Representation

CareWorksComp offers claims representation, rating analysis, hearing representation, safety analysis and more to our group rating members.

CareWorksComp is proud that over the past ten years it has retained 97% of the group sponsors who have entrusted CareWorksComp with administering their group programs. Additionally, CareWorksComp has experienced a 63% growth in group rating since 2002, with the closest major competitor at 33%.

Workers’ Compensation Group Rating & Group Retrospective Rating Timeline

January 2018 to April 2018

  • Obtain Temporary Authorization to review BWC records for group eligibility (AC-3) and forward to CareWorksComp.

March 2018 to May 2018

  • Group rating enrollment packets (AC-26) sent to clients who qualify.

May 11, 2018

  • Deadline to return group rating application (AC-3) to CareWorksComp.

May 23, 2018

  • Deadline to return enrollment packets (AC-26) to CareWorksComp for organizations who qualify.

May 31, 2018

  • Deadline for filing group application with BWC.

January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019

  • Your workers’ compensation group rating period begins.
